Durban

Welcome to Durban

Durban is a vibrant city in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa that should be on every traveller’s list. Known for its beautiful beaches, rich cultural history, and delicious cuisine, Durban has something for everyone.

What is very intriguing is Durban’s rich history. The city played an important role in South Africa’s struggle against apartheid, and you can learn about this history by visiting the many museums and historic sites in the area. Additionally, Durban is home to a vibrant Indian community, which has significantly impacted the city’s culture and cuisine. The city has a strong Indian influence, as many Indians migrated to Durban during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This influence can be seen in the city’s architecture, food, and cultural events. We visited the Victoria Street Market, trying some of the best Indian food ever and also great for picking up souvenirs and other local goods.

Durban is home to some of the world’s most stunning stretches of sand, with crystal-clear waters and warm temperatures. We spent several days lounging on the beach and swimming in the ocean. An excellent place for a relaxing holiday!

One of the highlights of Durban was visiting the Moses Mabhida Stadium. It was built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and has become a popular tourist attraction. You can ride up to the top of the stadium on a SkyCar or walk up the 500 steps to the top. The views from the top of the stadium are breathtaking and offer a great perspective on the city.

Overall, our trip to Durban was an unforgettable experience. The city’s beaches, cultural attractions, and delicious food make it a must-visit destination for anyone travelling to South Africa.
