The best time to visit Sweden is generally between May and September for warmer temperatures and longer days. The warmest month is July, with an average temperature of 15°C and 20°C.

 

Climate:

The climate of northern Sweden varies from southern Sweden, where the north has more than six months of winter, and the south has approximately three months of winter.

Language: 

The official language is  Swedish (Svenska), although English is widely spoken.


Currency:

The Swedish Krona (Kr) is the official currency of Sweden.


Banks & ATMs: 

The leading banks in Sweden are Nordea Bank, Svenska Handelsbanken, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken and Swedbank. ATMs are widely available.

 

Plugs and Sockets:

There are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins, and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side.

Sweden operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Consider carrying a universal adapter.


Local Culture: 

Swedish society is based on equality and individualism, and Swedes deeply respect integrity.


Safety: 

Sweden is considered a safe country with a low crime level, and violent crime is uncommon, but exercise normal precautions.

Scandinavian Airlines is the national carrier for Norway, Denmark and Sweden, but many International airlines also fly.
