THE BEST TIME TO VISIT

 

The best time to visit Saudi Arabia is from November to February, when the weather is mild, and the temperature remains average. With its extremely hot weather, summer from April to October is the time to avoid visiting Saudi Arabia.  

 

Climate:

Saudi Arabia has a desert climate, except for the southwestern part of the country, which exhibits a semi-arid climate. Summers in the central region are extremely hot and dry, ranging from 27°C to 43°C in the inland areas and 27°C to 38°C in coastal areas.

Language: 

The official language is Arabic, although English is also spoken.

Currency: Saudi riyal (ر. سSAR)

Banks & ATMs: 

The leading banks are the National Commercial Bank, Al Rajhi and Riyad Bank  (to name a few). ATMs are available everywhere.

Plugs and Sockets:

The associated plug is type G, which is the plug that has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern.

Saudi Arabia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 60Hz.

Consider carrying a universal adapter.

Local Culture: 

Saudi culture is traditional and conservative. Islam extensively influences society, guiding people’s social, familial, political and legal lives. The Saudi people generally share a strong moral code and cultural values, such as hospitality, loyalty and a sense of duty to support their community.

Please make sure to respect religious sites and dress conservatively.

Safety: 

Riyadh is mainly safe, but there are extremely unsafe areas, so be vigilant.
