Roman Mosaic Museum in Risan
At the old town of Risan, located in the Bay of Kotor, stands a museum which represents the remains of a Roman villa built in the 2nd century AD, and is also called “Roman mosaics”.
Romans used mosaics for decoration of their floors and walls in homes and temples. Mosaics became a prevalent art form during the time of the Roman Empire, and the Roman mosaics appeared on floors in houses as early as the 2nd century BCE.
