Nazareth, the largest city in Israel’s Northern Galilee, is the childhood home of Jesus Christ. Many sites deeply rooted in religious significance are located here, including Mary’s Well and Saint Joseph’s Church.

Many Christians believe this was the location of the Annunciation of the Archangel Gabriel that announced the birth of Lord Jesus to the Virgin Mary.
How To Get There
By Air: The closest airport to Nazareth is Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, about 90 minutes away by car. You can rent a car or take a taxi to Nazareth from there.
By Train: The Israeli Railways operates trains from Tel Aviv to Nazareth, which take about 2 hours. The train station in Nazareth is in the city centre, so you can easily reach your destination from there.
By Bus:Â Egged, the leading bus company in Israel, operates buses from several cities to Nazareth. The bus station in Nazareth is in the city centre, so you can easily reach your destination from there.
By Car:Â If you’re driving, Nazareth is accessible via several highways, including Highway 65 and Highway 90.

Places Of Interest
One of the world’s largest and most significant Catholic churches is the Basilica of the Annunciation, known by many as the site of the Annunciation of the birth of Jesus Christ to the Virgin Mary.
The current basilica was built in the 1960s and is a modern, multi-level structure surrounded by a beautiful garden. In contrast, the interior of the Church is ornately decorated with frescoes, mosaics, and stained glass and features several chapels and shrines dedicated to various saints. Book tours here.
Believed by many, this is the site where the angel Gabriel came down and appeared to Mary, announcing the birth of Jesus. It is a popular tourist destination in the city’s heart, surrounded by a beautiful garden. Visitors can walk down to the well to see the clear, cool water and explore the adjacent Church dedicated to the Annunciation.

This centre is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by gardens and greenery, and provides a quiet and restful environment for spiritual retreats and pilgrimages.
