How To Get There

Air: There is no airport on Phillip Island, but the closest airport is Melbourne Airport, which is approximately 140 kilometres away. Take a taxi or shuttle bus to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne and then catch a train to Stony Point. You can also book a scenic flight tour of Phillip Island from nearby towns like Moorabbin or Barwon Heads.

CarThe most popular way to get to Phillip Island is by caras the island is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The drive from Melbourne takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. You can avail of car rental in Melbourne and on Phillip Island.

Train: Take a train from Melbourne to Stony Point, which is the closest station to Phillip Island and from there, you can catch a ferry to Cowes on Phillip Island. The train journey takes approximately 2 hours, and the ferry takes around 30 minutes.

Bus: Several bus services operate between Melbourne and Phillip Island, with the journey taking approximately 2-3 hours. The main bus companies that operate on this route are V/Line and Phillip Island Bus Lines.

Ferry: You can catch a ferry from Stony Point to Cowes on Phillip Island. The ferry operates regularly throughout the day, taking approximately 30 minutes.
