Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 7 July 2026
1. Who We Are
Travels of the World (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a travel and lifestyle brand founded by Angela Jane, offering travel content, digital products, and curated small-group travel and wellness experiences for women over 50. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website (travelsoftheworld.com and its subdomains, including retreat landing pages), your purchase of our digital products, and your booking of our travel experiences and retreats. By using our website or booking with us, you agree to these terms. You can contact us at any time at [email protected].
2. Website Content — Information Only
Everything we publish — articles, guides, videos, newsletters, and social content — is shared for general information and inspiration. It reflects Angela’s personal experience and research, and is not professional advice of any kind (travel, medical, financial, or legal). Travel conditions, prices, visa rules, and safety situations change constantly; always verify current details with official sources before making decisions. We do our best to keep content accurate but cannot guarantee it is complete or up to date.
3. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — text, photography, video, graphics, and downloadable materials — belongs to Travels of the World unless otherwise credited. You are welcome to share links to our content. You may not copy, republish, sell, or use our content for commercial purposes without written permission.
4. Affiliate Links & Advertising
Some links on our website are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products, hotels, and services we genuinely believe are worth your time. Our website may also display third-party advertising. We are not responsible for the content, products, or services of any third-party website you reach through our links or ads.
5. Digital Products
Digital products (such as travel planners and guides) are delivered electronically after purchase. Because digital products cannot be returned, all sales are final once the product has been delivered or downloaded, except where required by law or where the product is faulty — in which case contact us and we will put it right. Digital products are for your personal use only and may not be shared, resold, or distributed.
6. Retreat & Travel Experience Bookings
The following terms apply to our hosted travel experiences and retreats (for example, The Sacred Pause — Kerala Women’s Wellness Retreat).
Booking and deposit. Your place is reserved when we receive your deposit and confirm your booking in writing. The remaining balance is payable by the date stated in your booking confirmation. Payment plans, where offered, are set out in your booking confirmation. If the balance is not paid by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled.
Cancellation by you. Your deposit is fully refundable up to 90 days before departure, no questions asked. Within 90 days of departure, your deposit is no longer refundable but is transferable to a future retreat with us. Refunds of any balance payments within 90 days of departure depend on what we can recover from our suppliers, and we will always pass on whatever we recover. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation (see Section 7).
Cancellation or changes by us. Our retreats depend on a minimum group size. If we must cancel a retreat (for example, if the minimum group size is not reached, or due to events beyond our control), you may choose a full refund of all amounts paid to us or a transfer to a future retreat. We are not responsible for other costs you incur, such as flights — another reason travel insurance matters. We may occasionally need to make minor changes to the programme, accommodation, or itinerary; where a significant change is necessary, we will tell you as soon as possible.
Flights and travel to the retreat. Flights are not included. You are responsible for your own travel to and from the designated arrival point (for example, Trivandrum International Airport for Kerala retreats). Airport transfers are included where stated in the retreat description.
7. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance for all our retreats. Your policy should cover medical treatment and repatriation, trip cancellation and curtailment, and personal belongings. We can suggest providers, but choosing and purchasing your policy — and any consequences of travelling without adequate cover — is your responsibility.
8. Health, Wellness & Medical Disclaimer
Our retreats include wellness practices such as Ayurvedic treatments, yoga, and meditation. These are traditional wellness practices, not medical treatment, and are not a substitute for advice or care from your doctor. You must tell us about any medical conditions, medications, injuries, allergies, or mobility needs before booking, and complete any health questionnaire we send you honestly. Where retreats include an Ayurvedic consultation, treatments are personalised by qualified practitioners — but we recommend you consult your GP before travelling if you have any health concerns. You participate in all activities voluntarily and at your own pace; everything is an invitation, never an obligation.
9. Passports, Visas & Entry Requirements
You are responsible for holding a valid passport (generally with at least six months’ validity), obtaining any required visas, and meeting the entry and health requirements of the destination country. We can point you to official sources, but the responsibility rests with you, and we cannot refund costs arising from missing or incorrect travel documents.
10. Third-Party Providers & Limitation of Liability
Our retreats are delivered in partnership with carefully chosen third-party providers — accommodation, wellness centres, transport providers, and local guides. While we select partners with great care, these providers are independent businesses, and we are not liable for their acts or omissions beyond what the law requires. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with a retreat is limited to the amount you paid us for that retreat. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
11. Behaviour & Group Wellbeing
Our retreats are intimate, small-group experiences. We ask every guest to treat fellow guests, hosts, and local communities with respect. If a guest’s behaviour seriously disrupts the wellbeing or safety of the group, we may ask them to leave the retreat without refund. This has never happened — and we’d like to keep it that way.
12. Privacy
How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your purchase or booking is the one that applies to you. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they were last revised.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
