Welcome to Ibiza
Ibiza is situated around 150 kilometres from the Valencia coast and is a part of the Balearic Islands, which also include Majorca, Minorca, and Formentera. The island is known for its Mediterranean climate, featuring mild winters and long, hot summers, making it a perfect choice for tourists and sun lovers throughout the year.

How To Get There
By Air: The most convenient way to get to Ibiza is by air. Ibiza Airport (IBZ) receives flights from several European cities, including Barcelona, Madrid, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. Many airlines operate regular flights to Ibiza, including budget carriers such as Ryanair and EasyJet.
By Sea: Another popular way to reach Ibiza is by sea. Regular ferry services connect Ibiza with other Balearic Islands, including Majorca, Minorca, and Formentera. Several ferry companies operate services to Ibiza, including Trasmediterranea, Balearia, and Mediterranea Pitiusa.
By Road: Ibiza is connected to the mainland of Spain by a network of highways and roads. Visitors can drive to Ibiza by taking a ferry from the mainland port of Denia or Valencia to Ibiza. Alternatively, visitors can drive to one of the ports on the Spanish coast and take a ferry to one of the other Balearic Islands before transferring to Ibiza.
By Bus: Ibiza is well-connected to various cities in Spain and other European countries via several bus companies. Some of the prominent bus operators serving Ibiza include Eurolines, Alsa, and Movelia.
By Train: There are no direct train routes to Ibiza. However, visitors can take a train to either Valencia or Barcelona and then catch a ferry service that operates to and from Ibiza.
Places Of Interest
Ibiza Town Eivissa is known for its ‘wild’ nightlife and the port city overlooking the Mediterranean. It’s also the capital’s largest city on the island with a magical, fortified World Heritage-listed old quarter topped by a castle and cathedral, set against a spectacular natural harbour. “The Grand Fortress” that sits above Ibiza Town
Ibiza’s Old Town, also known as Dalt Vila, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit attraction. It is a fortified hilltop area with narrow cobbled streets, historic buildings, and panoramic views of the island and the sea. Dalt Vila is home to ancient churches, museums, art galleries, and charming local shops. This lovely area is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets, pristine white buildings, and ancient monuments that vividly showcase the island’s vibrant cultural heritage.
Ibiza has a vibrant hippy, bohemian culture. Experience the Hippy Market in Punta Arabí (Es Canar), where the market takes place every Wednesday and offers various unique handmade crafts, clothing, jewellery, and local products.
A maze of cobbled streets located on a little mountain by the sea, is the fortified old town of D’Alt Vila.
A beautiful sunset and a “Paella” dinner at San Antoni Beach, the second largest and most beautiful harbours which features a palm-lined sandy beach area.
Formentera is reachable by ferry from Ibiza. It’s the smallest island but known for its clear waters and long stretches of beach. A treasure of aquamarine sea and beaches, found by riding around on a scooter ~ La Savina, Cala Saona, Es Pujols, Arenals and Es Calo Beaches. Book tickets here.
La Savina is the arrival port for the ferry from Ibiza. The harbourfront and marina are home to a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants from which you can watch the yachts and boats coming and going.
We hired a scooter (for approx 4 hours) to explore Formentera Island and we definitely found some hidden gems!
Beaches
Cala Saona is set in a beautiful cove with clean white beaches and white sand surrounded by pinewoods and bordered by low red cliffs. Excellent beach for sunbathing and easy access to the sea to enjoy the fishing, snorkelling, swimming and diving. And just above the beach, there is the kiosko of Cala Saona from where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets.
Es Pujols Beach, great for families, is a sheltered bay in the main village lined with and bars restaurants. Famous for water sports while enjoying a beautiful expanse of soft, white sand and translucent, turquoise waters.
In the south-east of Formentera is one of the most popular beaches on the island, with its excellent mixture of a natural setting of a vast dune landscape together with spacious, sandy areas and shimmering, turquoise sea.
Es Caló is located beyond the harbour & was once used by the ancient Romans and has a sandy beach.
Located on the island’s north coast, Cala Benirrás is known for its stunning views of the sunset and crystal-clear waters, a popular spot for swimming, snorkelling, and watching the famous hippie drumming ceremony that takes place every Sunday.
This beautiful beach is known for its white sand, turquoise waters, and pine forest backdrop. It features several beach bars, restaurants, and water sports facilities, making it a popular spot for families and water sports enthusiasts. Book tickets here.
One of Ibiza’s most popular and longest beaches, Platja d’en Bossa is known for its lively atmosphere, beach clubs, water sports activities, including jet skiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides.
Located in a natural cave, Aquarium Cap Blanc is a unique aquarium home to several marine species, including turtles, stingrays, and eels. Visitors can walk through the cave and observe the marine life in their natural habitat.
Watching the sunset at Café del Mar is an iconic Ibiza experience, a beachfront venue known for its chill-out music and breathtaking sunset views. People gather here to enjoy the spectacular colours of the sunset while relaxing with a drink and enjoying the ambient music.

La Dispensa: This cosy restaurant is located in the heart of Ibiza’s Old Town and offers a range of Mediterranean and Spanish dishes. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and the prices are reasonable.
Es Torrent: Located on the beach of the same name, this restaurant is known for its fresh seafood and stunning sea views. The meal cost can be slightly high but perfect for special occasions or a treat.
El Bigotes: This no-frills restaurant is located in the small fishing village of Cala Mastella and is famous for its grilled fish. El Bigoteshas been around for decades and has become an institution in Ibiza.
Can Pujol: This family-run restaurant is located in the town of Santa Eulalia and serves traditional Spanish dishes at affordable prices. Enjoy a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with very generous portions.
La Paloma: This charming restaurant is located in the countryside near San Lorenzo and offers a range of Mediterranean and vegetarian dishes. Reasonably priced with a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.
