A Fairytale Country
Slovenia in Central Europe is a small but beautiful Balkan country that was once part of Yugoslavia. It is known for its breathtaking landscapes, its mountains, its mesmerizing fairytale lakes and some of the best ski resorts in Europe.
Slovenia’s vibrant history, including castles and museums, beautiful nature, and rich culture, makes you feel like travelling back in time.
Ljubljana, which is the capital city is small and beautiful. It has a river running through it, and cafes and restaurants line the waterfront. Immerse yourself like a local as you walk through the streets, admiring churches and the impressive castle up on the hill and be sure to visit the open-air market.
Admire the natural beauty of Slovenia, its mountains, caves, lakes, rivers and forests. Visit many small towns like Koper and Piran, to name a few and enjoy meeting the friendly Slovenian locals who are so proud of their country.

THE BEST TIME TO VISIT
The most popular season to visit Slovenia is usually June through August. In Summer, Ljubljana is buzzing at outdoor cafes and picnics in the parks or by the Ljubljanica River.
Lake Bled is the perfect place to swim or explore waterfalls. Soca Valley is ideal for adventure sports like canyoning, kayaking, and ziplining and the alpine northwest sees abundant snow from December to March.
Climate:
Generally, Slovenia has a continental climate with warm summers and cold winters (snowfalls in the Alps).
There is a Mediterranean climate on the coast, with the average temperature at 0°C (32ºF) in January and 20°C (79ºF) in July.
Slovenia’s summer is typically warm, with constant sunshine, whereas the winters are cool and fresh.

Banks & ATMs:
Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB Bank) is the main entity of NLB Group. ATMs are available near bank branches, shopping centres and supermarkets.
Plugs and Sockets:
Slovenia uses two plug types, types C and F.
Plug type C has two round pins, and plug type F also has the plug with two round pins but with two earth clips on the side. Slovenia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Safety:
Slovenia is safe to visit, and a lot of research dictates possibly the safest country in Eastern Europe, but be mindful of petty theft or bag snatching on the streets.
There is one airport in Slovenia, Ljubljana (LJU), and it has direct flights to 22 destinations in 14 countries.
