In the Central and Southeast part of Europe, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, lies beautiful Croatia. It borders Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro to the southeast. Zagreb is its Capital.

THE BEST TIME TO VISIT

The summer months are the best time for trips to Croatia from June to September when the average temperatures are between 15°C – 27°C.

April, May and October are the cooler seasons with average temperatures between 3°C – 21°C, where you can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, from hiking to kayaking.

November to March is Croatia’s winter, with average temperatures between -1°C – 5°C

Climate:

Croatia has a Mediterranean climate. Hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters. The hottest months are July and August, and January is the coldest month of the year.

Language: 

The official language is Croatian, with English widely spoken in most places.


Currency: Croatian Kuna (HRK)


Banks & ATMs: 

The Croatian National Bank (CNB) is the central bank of the Republic of Croatia. ATMs are widespread in every part of Croatia, except the remote islands.


Plugs and Sockets:

There are two associated plug types, types C and F.

Plug type C is the plug with two round pins.

Plug type F is the plug with two round pins with two earth clips on the side. 

Croatia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz. 

Highly recommended to carry a universal adaptor.


Safety: 

Violent crime in Croatia is rare, and overall crime levels are pretty low, making it extremely safe to travel to Croatia. Be mindful of pickpockets and scammers.

Croatia Airlines Ltd. is the country’s leading airline of Croatia. Its central hub is Zagreb International Airport, with focus cities being Dubrovnik, Split, and Zadar.

There are some great airfares with EasyJet UK if travelling out of London.  Other major airlines include:

Emirates, Turkish, Lufthansa, KLM, British Airways, Iberia, Qatar Airways.
