Welcome to Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a picturesque and breathtaking southern Italy region stretching along the Sorrentine Peninsula in the Campania region. It is renowned for its stunning beauty, cliffs, colourful fishing villages, and crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, making it a UNESCO World Heritage site with exceptional natural and cultural significance.

The region’s mild Mediterranean climate makes it an ideal destination year-round, with warm and sunny summers and mild winters. Summer is the busiest time to visit, with temperatures averaging around 30°C (86°F). Spring and fall offer cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, making it an excellent time to explore the area’s stunning landscapes and enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and boating.

The main towns along the Amalfi Coast include Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, and Sorrento, each offering unique charm and attractions. Amalfi, the largest town in the region, features a beautiful medieval cathedral and a maze of narrow streets. Positano is famous for its colourful houses cascading down the cliffs, fashionable boutiques, and lovely pebble beaches. Ravello, perched on a hilltop, is known for its elegant villas and stunning panoramic views. Sorrento, on the opposite side of the peninsula, is a popular gateway to the Amalfi Coast and offers a vibrant atmosphere, historical sites, and panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius.

Exploring the Amalfi Coast offers a range of activities and attractions. You can take scenic drives along the winding coastal roads, stopping at viewpoints to admire the breathtaking landscapes. The town is widely known for its small ceramics, lacework, and marquetry (woodwork) shops. Sorrento sits on top cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas where one can see sweeping water views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square.
