Places Of Interest
Windsor Castle
Less than an hour’s drive from London, you can discover the 17th-century historical monuments lining charming cobbled streets. Visit the home of the late Queen Elizabeth II and a place of worship for the Royal Family.
Windsor Castle day trip hosted the Royal Weddings of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Princess Eugenie, and Jack Brooksbank. The castle, surrounded by vast greenery, makes it the perfect setting for a Royal Wedding.
The Castle remains a royal working Castle, and planned closures and disruptions are always subject to change.
St. George’s Chapel is open for visitors on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and there is an entrance fee payable at the Windsor Castle ticket office.
Stonehenge
Stonehenge is the most popular day trip from London and is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed iconic site in England. Discover its monolithic rocks rising against the skyline on Salisbury Hill.
But consider getting here first thing in the morning or last thing in the afternoon to avoid the influx of tourists; depending on traffic conditions, travel time between London and Stonehenge is approximately 2 hours each.
Bath
Continue to Bath on the slopes of the River Avon, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and a picturesque historic town with stunning Georgian architecture.
The ancient Roman Baths were built around thermal springs and supplied water for over 2,000 years. Unfortunately, now it can only be for viewing, but in 2006 a more modern Thermae Bath Spa was opened, containing the only natural hot spring in England in which you’re allowed to bathe.
Take a walk along the riverside walkways for majestic landscapes, then later stop off at Sally Lunn’s for one of their incredible buns.
Visit the 15th-century Bath Abbey, with its unique ‘ladder of angels’ on the west front and the romantic Pulteney Bridge, modelled on Florence’s Ponte Vecchio.
Another architectural gem worth visiting is the Circus. It is a historic street of large townhouses which forms a circle builtin in the latter half of the 18th century.
The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds have a charm you can’t miss with traditional architecture and stone villages; Cotswolds day trip from London almost feels like stepping back in time.
Bibury runs along the banks of the River Coln. The iconic Arlington Row is situated here – a series of buildings initially built as a monastic wool store but later converted into cottages.
Burford another village well worth visiting with its three arched medieval bridges across the River Windrush. High Street runs down the river and is popular for antique shopping, good restaurants, pubs and tea rooms.
