AirIf you’re arriving from further afield, Melbourne Airport is the closest airport to Dandenong, located approximately 50 kilometres northwest of the suburb. From there, you can take a taxi, ride-share service, or public transport to get to Dandenong. Alternatively, you can fly into Avalon Airport, located approximately 90 kilometres southwest of Dandenong.

TrainDandenong train station is located in the heart of the suburb and is serviced by the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines, which run from Flinders Street Station in Melbourne’s CBD. Dandenong benefits from regular train services operating throughout the day and evening, providing a convenient and cost-effective transportation option for travellers heading to the area.

Bus: Several bus routes service the Dandenong area, including local buses that connect to nearby suburbs and regional buses that travel further afield. Some of the main bus routes that serve Dandenong include the 800, 811, 812, 813, 814, 815, 828, 845, 861, 862, and 893. Tram: While no tram services directly connect to Dandenong, several tram routes run in the nearby suburbs of St Kilda and South Melbourne. CarDandenong is approximately 29 kilometres southeast of Melbourne’s CBD and easily accessible via the Monash Freeway (M1) or the Eastlink tollway (M3). If you’re coming from Melbourne, you can take the Monash Freeway and exit at the Dandenong Road/Princes Highway exit, which will take you directly to Dandenong.
