Before 1972, Sri Lanka was called Ceylon and later changed its name when Sri Lanka became a republic within the British Commonwealth.
The beautiful Island of Sri Lanka is warm and welcoming, with great food and friendly people. It is an island to explore for its history and to embrace the locals’ authentic culture and genuine hospitality.Â
In the short time we were here, we absolutely loved the country and cannot wait to come back and spend more time exploring the rest of this beautiful country.
How To Get There
Sri Lanka is located off the tip of southern India – a jewel between the Gulf of Mannar and the Bay of Bengal. The main airport is Bandaranaike Intl Airport – Colombo (CMB), not too far from the capital city – Colombo, and the country’s main airline is Sri Lankan airlines.
